This is my wish for you,
That you see light in every day,
Knowing I am on your side,
Knowing you'll never be turned away.


That I would always be near,
albeit far away.
Far across numerous seas and countless miles;
I promise I'd welcome you with open arms,
and never turn you away.


When you feel like giving in
And the tide has become too strong,
I will be there by your side
To keep you holding on.


Just like the anchor of a ship,
I'd be a friend that you can always count on,
No matter the time, nor the distance.
You'd always be cherished and remembered,
You'd never be alone.

Author's Comments

This is a long over-due co-write/collaboration with my dear friend from DA, Tammy Pete, aka ~ kindredsoul or kindredsoul ...

It was procrastination on my bit which delayed the submission of the poetry for so long! *Laughs!* Sorry Tammy dearie... :)


The first and third stanzas were written by Tammy, and the second and final stanzas were written by it -- it's pretty self-explanatory, so I don't think I need to explicitly explain what it means... :)

Tammy's a great writer -- I adore her poetry and she is really THE pro with Paint Shop Pro! =P She has some great great scenic pictures of Santa Cruz, CA up at her page, so do take a look, cos pZ says so! :P


I got to know Tammy while surfing around DA, where I happened to read one of her deviations and then we sorta added each other onto each other's deviant watchlist and that's how a beautiful friendship began...:) Although i've known her for like only a few months, it seems to me as though I've known her for a long long time...And although I've not seen her face-to-face, she is definitely a kindred soul -- one who is sweet, wonderful, kind, patient and a great listening ear...

Throughout the years, i've seen many friends come and go, some staying for a while, while some are still around... :) As for Tammy, I certainly do hope that she'll be one of those would be a friend for as long as possible...I wanna get invited to her wedding, I wanna get to know her kids, I hope that we'll go through thick and thin, ups and downs...When I get a job, I'd definitely save up and visit her in Santa Cruz, CA someday! :nod:

Twenty years of my life gone past me and thanks to technology, I've found a special and treasured friend in Tammy Pete. And Tammy dearie, although i've never said this to you, I want you to know how much I truly treasure our friendship and I am grateful that out of millions of users, our paths managed to pass each other... I love you and I truly hope that your life would be filled with love, happiness and everything wonderful...

That's really sweet! :) I think that's the sweetest description ever. :D Good job on your parts of the poem. :) I still think you're the better writer and you'll never be able to convince me otherwise. =P :) And thanks again for writing the poem with me. You ought to check out ~kindredsoul's stuff...She was the one that co-wrote the poem with me and in my opinion, she wrote the better stanzas! :)
